Today, when I woke up I was hit hard.
Hit by a sad truth, one I wish I could change to a nightmare
You, the light of so many lives, suddenly went out.
A flicker and then darkness.
It was so sudden so unexpected.
It didn't feel real.
Not then
And certainly not now.
When you left, things felt bleaker
They felt dark, we lost our way.
We cried and held each other.
It couldn't be true.
You were our guide for so long.
You taught each of us.
You made us see things differently
You made us see what was truly important.
